A verifiable credential
Every certificate carries a public verification page that a client, a firm, or a court can check directly. The credential is valid for one year, with annual recertification.
Built for practice
Video lessons and readings across six domains, with working templates for immediate use, including a citation verification protocol and a vendor terms review checklist.
Certification by examination
A 40-item examination drawn from a documented bank, with a 75% passing score. One retake is included within 14 days of an unsuccessful attempt.
About the course
AI Governance in Law: United States certifies, by examination, an attorney's ability to govern AI use in a law practice: how the tools work and where they fail, what the rules of professional conduct require when they are used, how to verify output before it reaches a court or a client, and how to supervise people and systems under a written governance framework. It is built for practicing attorneys in any U.S. jurisdiction, from solo practitioners to managing partners responsible for firm policy, and assumes no technical background. Courts have sanctioned attorneys in dozens of cases for filing AI-fabricated citations, and the State Bar of California has begun bringing disciplinary prosecutions arising from AI misuse in practice. The certification equips an attorney to meet the duty of technology competence with a defined, examined, and verifiable body of knowledge. It is a private professional certification. It is not a license, not legal advice, and not an endorsement by any bar or regulator.
